Siren Dwell no.171 and Field Flare no.173 explore human impact on nature by imagining matter as sentient. Functioning as a pair, they represent organism and warning. Siren Dwell, with its coral-like, porous form, evokes a grounded, sensing body that registers disturbance and emits a call. Field Flare manifests this signal visually, elevated against a yellow-ochre disc suggesting halo or radiation, with materials that bleed like geological stress. Together, they mirror non-human defense systems, birds; fish; insects, and question what it means when such signals become urgent, as the natural world begins expressing warnings within a human-dominated environment.
